Morgan Stanley Gears For Asia Wealth Push
By Jon Jacobs
15 Apr 2008
Morgan Stanley promoted Leslie Menkes to head of onshore private wealth management for all of Asia, to spearhead a push into India and other new markets.

Menkes had headed private wealth management for Southeast Asia and Australia. According to a company announcement, he will be in charge of expanding the business into new markets including India, where the bank plans an onshore launch "in the near future." He remains based in Singapore and will join Morgan Stanley's global private wealth management executive committee.

Menkes' former role as head of private wealth management for Southeast Asia and Australia was filled by Su-Shan Tan, who returned to Morgan Stanley after two years at Citigroup where she led Citi Private Bank's business in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.
