By Jon Jacobs
30 Apr 2008
Jefferies Group hired two senior commodities professionals - one for its buy-side unit and one for its sales and trading business.

James P. Crimmins joined Jefferies Asset Management as a managing director in the commodity programs division, which manages a series of active commodity investment strategies. While at Goldman Sachs, he was a lead architect of the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index and the GSCI futures contract listed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, according to Jefferies.

Thomas H. Dering joined as a senior vice president within Jefferies Financial Products, the firm's commodities sales and trading arm. He has worked in the alternative investment industry for nearly 20 years, most recently as a senior vice president at Morgan Stanley. Jefferies Financial Products offers swaps, options and other derivatives linked to commodity indexes.
